Wrestlers dominate Bacone dual 31-6

During the Dan Harris Open on Nov. 3, senior Parker Owen won in the 184-pound bracket. Senior Jakob Price and junior Beau Bennett placed second in the their respective weight classes. Senior Alan Callahan placed third in the 125-pound bracket, while freshman Bryce Shoemaker also placed third in the 133-pound bracket. Juniors Joel Hood and Nick Haugen placed third in the 149 and 157-pound brackets, respectively.

The Wildcats went 8-2, scoring 31 points in their duals with Bacone on Nov. 6, with Shoemaker and Price both winning via pin.

Freshman Bryant Guillen won his first HAAC Wrestler of the Week award after placing second in both the Baker-hosted Dan Harris Open and the third annual Bethany Swede Open in Lindsborg. Guillen finished the week with a 7-2 record.

The Wildcats compiled an overall record of 22-28 at the Bethany Swede Open on Nov. 9. Only Guillen and Owen placing in their weight classes, compared to the seven wrestlers who placed at the Dan Harris Open.

The Wildcats are scheduled to wrestle on Saturday at the HAAC Quad in Marshall, Mo., where they will face Benedictine College, Missouri Valley College and Graceland University.
