Despite Gray’s career night, men lose second game in conference play

The Baker University men’s basketball team is off to an 0-2 start in Heart of America Athletic Conference play after losing to Central Methodist 79-72 on Wednesday night in Fayette, Missouri. The Wildcats have now lost six straight games to CMU and three straight in Fayette.

The men’s basketball team fell to Grand View University on Saturday 86-81. The Wildcats had a chance late in the game, down two points with 12.1 seconds left, but they were not able to capitalize and Grand View sank its final free throw attempts.

The men’s basketball team suffered its third straight loss on Saturday, falling on the road to Culver-Stockton College 66-52. No Wildcat scored more than 9 points, and the team shot a season-low 29 percent on field goals, including 8-37 on 3-pointers.

The Baker men defeated Benedictine 76-71 on Wednesday night in the Collins Center. The loss snapped a five-game losing streak to the Ravens. Coupled with a win by the BU women's team, for the first time in nearly five years the Baker basketball teams knocked off Benedictine in a doubleheader.

After its worst loss in nearly two months, the men’s basketball team finished off the week with a dominant win over Culver-Stockton College 94-79 Saturday in Baldwin City. The Wildcats are now 7-7 overall and 3-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
