The Baker University track and field team competed in its first outdoor meet of the season at the Oklahoma Baptist University Invitational over the weekend.

Five Baker track and field athletes qualified for the 2017 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. However, due to a missed deadline, those athletes will not be competing at nationals.
Baker University’s men’s track and field team finished third and the women placed seventh in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Championship meet in Jacksonville, Illinois, last weekend.
The men’s outdoor track & field team won its sixth-straight Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Two years ago, Jordan Miller was struggling with throwing the shot put and asked her coach if she could try throwing javelin. What began as an idea to get her mind off of the shot put slowly transformed into her best event.
Seven Baker athletes took first-place honors in the Ottawa University Invitational Saturday. The BU track and field teams competed at the meet along with seven other schools.

The 75th annual Baker Relays at Liston Stadium resulted in first-place finishes for both the BU men and women’s track and field teams on Saturday. The men finished with 162.5 points and the women with 152, both passing MNU for first place.
The men’s and women’s indoor track and field team will send six athletes to the 51st Annual Men’s and 36th Annual Women’s NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Johnson City, Tennessee on March 3-5.
The men’s indoor track and field team won its fifth straight Heart of America Athletic Conference indoor track & field championship Feb. 12-13 in Crete, Nebraska.
The indoor track and field team had a busy weekend as the Wildcats finished their meets for the month of January. Members of the teams competed in the Dutch Athletics Classic in Pella, Iowa, and the Pittsburg State Invitational.
