In addition to a veteran team coming back with roughly 82 players, which will be the most players ever returning in a spring season, there will be 10 transfer students who will be integrated into the team during the spring season.

“We feel like we’ve got a lot of good experience playing on this football team. We just got to get guys in the right position in the next month,” head football coach Mike Grossner said.

With rival Ottawa University being the first game on the schedule for the fall, the spring season is a time for the team to start preparing and planning for the upcoming challenges of the 2012 season.

One of the most important goals going into spring ball for Grossner is to start the formation of a successful team dynamic. With a challenging fall season ahead of the team, having the right team chemistry is key to future success.

“Become tighter, love each other a little bit more, trust each other and that will carry over into the fall,” Grossner said.
