Wood leads bowlers in Midwest classic

The Baker University bowling team finished in a tie for 11th place on Saturday and Sunday in the Kegal/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic in Addison, Ill.

The Wildcats finished with a total score of 8205, tying the team with Florida State University during the 53-team tournament. Wichita State University won the classic with a score of 9488.

Freshman Becca Wood led the Wildcats with a 14th-place finish among 338 bowlers. Her tournament score was 1774, featuring a score of 243 during game six. Senior Brittani Kelly also placed in the top 25 for the Wildcats. She bowled a 1734 for the tournament and posted a 193 average. Junior Ally Eckhart and freshman Allyson Ware joined Wood and Kelly in the top 100.

The Wildcats will take three weeks off before traveling to Indianapolis for the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic on Feb. 15-16.
