The women’s golf team won its conference tournament for the second year in a row, defeating Graceland University by 13 strokes.

The Wildcats will be advancing to the NAIA national tournament, held May 20-23 in Lincoln, Neb., at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.

The Wildcats finished the first day of the tournament tied with Graceland at 362 strokes each but pulled away on the second day, with the top two individual scores coming from Baker.

Reigning HAAC Women’s Golfer of the Year sophomore Lindsey Mateer tied for fourth in the final individual standings, just behind freshman Kaci Dillingham. Both Mateer and Dillingham made this year’s all-conference team.

Junior Emma Tinsley and sophomore Rebecca Holder both placed in the top 12, which made the difference for the Wildcats in defeating Graceland.

Also recognized was head coach Karen Exon, who repeated as HAAC Women’s Coach of the Year.

The Baker women have not lost a tournament since the spring of 2012 under Exon, who also coached the men to a second-place finish in their conference tournament.
