The teams and leagues are set for the 5-on-5 intramural basketball season, however, the season is being put on hold due to scheduling conflicts.
Ron Holden, director of multicultural affairs, said there were conflicts with the scheduling that could have potentially canceled the season, so the season will be postponed for several weeks and will begin again in early March.
Games were originally scheduled to be played on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays, although Holden said the season might be condensed once play resumes.
Three leagues, a men’s competitive league and non-competitive league and a women’s league, are available for athletes and Holden said there are consistently 15-17 intramural teams a year. Eighteen teams make up this year’s season, 13 being in the competitive league, two in the non-competitive league and three in the women’s league.
"Providing an intramural program is really key in making sure that you have healthy students on your campus and I think a lot of students play for fun," Holden said.<br/>&#160;
