New faces will soon come to the chairs of the Baker University Student Senate.
On May 9, Baker freshmen, sophomores and juniors will elect five new class officers to represent them for the coming year. Along with serving as a voice for their classes in student senate, officers will also plan a service project and social event for each semester.
“At other campuses, it’s less about representation and more about organizing an event. I would encourage students to see this as an opportunity to really get involved,” Dean of Students Cassy Bailey said.
Officers from each class will have their own faculty advisers to help coordinate meetings and activities on campus. Bailey said this is a new addition by Baker and one she hopes will continue.
Elections run from 12:01 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 9.
