The warmer weather did not stop the Baker University track and field team from continuing a hot streak at the Breast Cancer Awareness Invitational Saturday in Fayette, Mo.
The men finished third overall, and the women finished fourth.
Senior Aubree Gustin won the women’s javelin throw for the third straight meet, with a mark of 43 meters.
“I’ve been throwing better than I have for a while,” Gustin said. “I just want to continue it.”
Freshman Stephanie Nelson was named the HAAC Field Athlete of the Week after finishing second in the javelin throw and shot put, and a placing sixth in the discus throw.
BU also had first place finishes from senior Jason Robbs in the hammer throw, sophomore Taylor Nall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Katie Thurbon, Baker Orange staff member, in the pole vault.
