The Baker University dance team, spirit squad and mascot WOWzer competed in the NAIA/HAAC Cheer and Dance Competition Saturday at Culver-Stockton College.
“All of the squads have come a long way and had a great showing on Saturday,” head dance coach Lynsey Payne said.
The dance team and mascot WOWzer took second place in their respective categories, which gave them an automatic bid to the NAIA Invitational.
“We worked harder than ever, putting in a ton of practice hours in before,” senior Katie Kopy said.
The NAIA Invitational, held with the National Cheer Association and the National Dance Alliance’s National Cheer and Dance championships, is April 6-10 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
