Baker University students in the Human Nutrition class will be giving away free food samples and advice about how to eat healthy when the munchies set in.
“The food has to have some nutritional value or there will be comparisons between high-fat products and low-fat products,” said Kathy Allen, assistant professor of physical education, who is teaching the nutrition class. “There will be low-sugar desserts and all kinds of different things for the students to sample.”
Sophomore Kendra Morrison said nutritional information and recipes will be posted beside the various food items at the nutrition fair.
“In college we don’t always make the healthiest choices for quick snacks,” she said. “We’re just trying to show that there are healthier choices and alternatives to snacking.”
The nutrition fair is scheduled to take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Harter Union lobby.
