Lee Green plans trip to Cooperstown

Story by Sara

Baseball is considered America’s pastime, but for Lee Green, professor of business and economics, the history of baseball is also a reflection of American history.

With this concept in mind, Green thought of a travel Interterm where students learn about American baseball history by spending five days in Cooperstown, N.Y., home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

“Baseball acts as that societal mirror to every major trend and event happening in American history,” Green said.

Students will spend most of the course at Baker studying the evolution of baseball and how events in history changed the course of the sport.

“The thing I love about Interterm is the sort of inner-disciplinary aspect of it,” Green said. “I have always been interested in history and in baseball, so (I’m doing) something a little different.”
