The trial date for Hinndley Espinales, who was arrested in March in connection with a Baldwin City murder, has been set for Oct. 30.
Espinales was arrested by Oklahoma state troopers near Sulphur, Okla., hours after fleeing the home at 109 Hillside Drive, where he allegedly shot 27-year-old Alvin Sanchez three times.
After the Baldwin City Police Department had been called by Sanchez’s wife, Jamelia Sanchez, the victim was flown to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., where he later died.
Witnesses told officials Alvin Sanchez and Espinales had been involved in a series of arguments linked to Sanchez’s jealousy over the interaction between Espinales and Espinales’ stepsister.
