After dominating Park University Friday, the Baker women’s basketball team finished the Benedictine Classic tournament 2-0 with a victory over Ottawa University Saturday in Atchison, Kan.
The ‘Cats prevailed 69-49 with the help from senior point guards Kaitlin Schneden and Lauren Shufelberger, who scored 12 points apiece. The Wildcat defense came out strong in the first half, holding Ottawa to just 12 points total and kept the Braves under 30 percent shooting in the contest. On the other side, Baker shot an impressive 49 percent from the field and were 50 percent from the 3-point arc.
On Friday, the ‘Cats glided past Park University 67-53 with help from Shufelberger’s 20-point effort. Audrey Bryant added 11 points and Schneden chipped in eight.
