In accordance with efforts from the United States Social Security Administration to help prevent identity theft, Baker University will be changing its identification system on Campus Connect.
Starting at noon June 5, students will no longer use their social security number to access the online Campus Connect system. Instead, students will be issued a new 5-digit student ID by e-mail sometime around May 18.
According to a campus-wide e-mail from Assistant Vice President for Information Technology Simon Maxwell, the university is also looking into issuing new student ID cards printed with the 5-digit number.
Students will receive hard copies including information on the change during the summer.
Students needing assistance with logging into Campus Connect after June 5 should contact the help desk or the records office.
