The Baker University and Ottawa University football programs have both been successful on the field in recent years, but the rivals have not gone head-to-head in 17 years.

This will change next season when Baker and Ottawa battle in the fourth annual College Fanz First Down Classic.

“We’re very excited to renew our rivalry with Ottawa University,” Assistant Athletic Director Theresa Yetmar said.

Yetmar said an option is being explored to play another game at Liston Stadium in the 2011 season, but this has not yet been confirmed.

The non-conference game is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at People’s Bank Field in Ottawa.

"It'll be a great opportunity for two great football programs in the NAIA to showcase their ability on the field," Yetmar said. "We really think it will springboard both teams toward the NAIA ratings throughout the year."<br/>
