Students serving on Baker University’s Student Senate had the opportunity to get to know one another at 7 p.m. Tuesday at a retreat.

Student senate president Patti Greenbaum said the retreat allowed the new senate members to get more comfortable with what senate is and does.

“We wanted to make them feel comfortable in the senate atmosphere and kind of get them into really how to make a motion, how to have discussion and kind of feel comfortable with one another so that they’re not afraid to get into debates or discussions,” she said.

Student senate members who attended the retreat played icebreakers, formed committees and went over the senate’s rituals of order.
