The Baker University Student Education Association (BUSEA) conducted a workshop covering legal issues affecting educators Wednesday in Case Hall.
David Schauner, legal counsel for the Kansas National Education Association, worked to answer questions involving social networking, legal responsibilities and controversial issues in the classroom and teachers’ rights during the workshop.
“These activities are a good opportunity for us to learn about some of the aspects we will deal with in our future.,” junior Clayton Alexander said.
BUSEA organizes opportunities for professional development in teaching once or twice each semester. The next event is planned for Nov. 19, which will include a fundraiser for materials to wrap books for Christmas presents for the Olathe Head Start program.
