Freshman Lindsey Brown continued her streak of top-10 finishes at the Ollie Isom Invitational at Butler County Community College, finishing 10th with a 4K time of 15:26. Brown has finished in the top 10 in each of the last three meets.

“To be able to compete against a lot of those junior colleges and division II schools that we did last weekend, and be able to be in the top 10 each week, (Brown’s) just doing extremely well as a freshman,” head coach Zach Kindler said.

The Baker women’s team finished fourth, while the men placed eighth. There were several NCAA Division II teams running in the meet, including Emporia State University and Newman University.

“They’re seeing improvement each week which keeps them motivated, keeps them excited to be at practice, keeps them excited to go to meets,” Kindler said.

Freshman Taylor Nall led the way for the men’s team, finishing with a 5K time of 16:25 to place 31st out of 96 runners. Freshman Aaron Caldwell was second on the team, finishing in 42nd place with a time of 16:44.

Baker will travel to Southwestern College in Winfield Saturday for the Mid-States Classic. The meet will include about 30 teams, all being from NAIA schools, Kindler said.

This is the final meet before the HAAC Championships Nov. 7. <br/>
