Theatre performs “The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories”

Freshman Morgan Masters and seniors Destiny Bruno and Alyssa Glover act as made-up Seuss characters. The actors read the book word for word to capture the entirety of Dr. Seuss's writings.

The theatre department performed "The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories" as their first production of the semester. The production told numerous stories by Dr. Seuss and was a staged reading.

Cross Country competes in Lawrence

Women's collegiate runners take off at the sound of the starting gun for the first race of the day at the Haskell Indian Nations University Invitational on Oct. 7. Along with the two collegiate races, Haskell welcomed area high school teams as well.

The Wildcats fell short in three sets, 25-22, 25-23, 25-18, to Central Methodist inside the Collins Center on Sept. 26. The 'Cats are now 8-12 on the season and 1-7 within the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Football improves to 5-0

Baker's defense charges to help make the tackle against Benedictine on Sept. 23. The rivalry match up was voted the NAIA Game of the Week.

The No. 2 Wildcats earned their 22nd-consecutive Heart of America Athletic Conference win against No. 14 Benedictine College 44-37 on Sept. 23 at Larry Wilcox Stadium in Atchinson, Kan. The 'Cats all-time record against the Ravens is now 20-14-1.

Homecoming brings friendly competition

The senior class brings high spirits to the Clash of Clans sponsored by SAC Sept. 13. There were numerous activities that each class competed in to win $500 for their class.

The men's and women's golf teams opened up their seasons at the Ottawa Fall Invitational in Lawrence at Eagle Bend Golf Course. The women's team finished fourth as senior Bailey Gibson lead the way for the 'Cats with a tie for 17th place. The men's team finished sixth and senior Alec Wuellner finished in the top position on the team in eighth place.

Cross Country Maple Leaf ZK Invitational

The men's team toes the line for their 5K race at the Baldwin City Golf Course Sept. 2. The men finished fourth as a team with 101 points.

The Wildcats enter the 2017 season with high hopes after a run to the National Championship game in the 2016 season. The Wildcats came away with a 31-27 win over No. 23 William Penn to start the season 1-0. Clarence Clark had a record breaking game by becoming the NAIA All-Time Leader in scoring with 526 points and counting.
