Men’s cross country team takes second in Southern Stampede

The Baker University men's and women's cross country teams competed alongside 17 other schools in the Southern Stampede on Saturday. The men took second place and the women finished in ninth place.

Both the men's and women's team sent a runner to the NAIA National meet in the 2015 season. The Wildcats will open their season at the Maple Leaf Invitational, which proved to be a success for both teams in 2015.

The Baker men's team took third place overall at the 2015 Heart of America Athletic Conference Cross Country championships on Saturday, a mere 6 points behind Mount Mercy for a qualifying spot in the national championship meet. The women's team finished in the middle of the pack in seventh place overall.

The men’s and women’s cross country teams both finished in the back half of the University of Minnesota’s Roy Griak Invitational Sept. 26 in Minneapolis. The men finished 27th out of 37 teams, and the women finished 31st out of 37.
