The No. 15 Baker University football team has put the Heart of America Athletic Conference on notice after a second straight blowout victory, this one a 48-13 win over the No. 19 William Penn University Statesmen Sept. 12 in the home opener at Liston Stadium.

Conference football coaches have picked Baker to finish third in the South Division. Poll results were announced at the Heart of America Athletic Conference’s football media day. Newcomer Grand View University was picked to finish first in the North, and MidAmerica Nazarene was picked to finish first in the South. Baker opens the season at No. 6 Grand View in Des Moines, Iowa, on Aug. 29.

HAAC inks TV deal with ESPN

The Heart of America Athletic Conference signed a television deal with Niles Media, Mediacom, and ESPN3 that will broadcast 13 games throughout the 2015 football season. Baker will have two of its games put out on the network in each state that the conference has teams represented, with the exception of Nebraska.
