The Baker University Faculty Senate reduced the number of required interterms for current students from three courses to two in order to graduate. It also approved a reduction in total hours required to graduate from 132 to 129.
During the meeting Tuesday, the senate approved a motion that will allow current students to follow these new requirements, meaning all current Baker students will no longer need three interterms or 132 hours to graduate. Students now need two interterms and 129 hours to graduate.
The Faculty Senate also approved six travel interterms for January 2013 and one travel interterm for summer 2013.
The January interterms include:
- New Orleans: The Big Easy Combo Tour (Ray James)
- Spanish in Salemanca, Spain (Sandra Schumm)
- The Peruvian Amazon by Riverboat (Rand Ziegler)
- Yucatan Encounter (Leonard Ortiz)
- The History of our Nation’s Capital: Washington D.C. Travel Interterm (Lee Green)
- Modern Celebrity and the Monarchy in Britain (Robyn Long)
The summer interterm will be The Economics of Beer: Britain, Belgium, Germany.
All travel interterms will count as three credit hours.
