Director of Financial Aid Jeanne Mott was honored with two awards from the Rocky Mountain Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
This association is composed of eight states: Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. Every fall, an annual conference is hosted in one of these states.
The first award Mott received was a leadership award, which was given to her by the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, and she received the second one at the annual regional conference in Omaha. The second award, which was a Hall of Fame award given to Mott at the conference in Omaha, was based on her heavy involvement in financial aid training.
“I do a lot of financial aid training, specifically in the summer at what we call summer institute,” Mott said. “I like to work with people who are new to the industry.”
Mott has been very active in creating different ways to train new people who are coming to work in the financial aid industry and has been doing it for more than 15 years.
Mott said she is successful in her training because she comes up with innovative ways to teach federal regulations.
“My passion is for training, and that’s what both of these awards were for,” Mott said.
