Senior Chris Duderstadt currently serves as the the Baker Orange editor.
Although it is the first time the Orange has received an online Pacemaker, it was a finalist in 2008.
“This is the first staff I’ve advised that won the award,” Faculty Adviser Dave Bostwick said. “So it was particularly exciting for me personally.”
This year, the Baker Orange transitioned from a weekly newspaper to a monthly newspaper in order to focus on online content.
“Our department’s made a lot of changes in the last couple years, and this award shows that the entire mass media program is headed in the right direction,” Bostwick said.
The Baker Orange won a Pacemaker for print newspaper in 2004 with Gwyn Mellinger as faculty adviser.
