Jacob Draisey is a senior, from Raytown, Mo., who is double majoring in business and accounting. He has taken numerous classes in preparation for these majors and will be graduating with 160 credits.

Draisey ventured into the field of business after seeing his dad’s success from the organization he and a group of his friends started 20 years ago.
After graduation from Baker, Draisey wants to get a job in finance that utilizes both of his degrees before pursuing graduate school to obtain his MBA, possibly at the University of Missouri.
He wants to follow in his father’s footsteps and be successful in finance, but said in five years he might change his mind.
After Draisey completes graduate school, he wants to either start his own business or take over his father’s.
Draisey is one of the students in the business policy class taught by Lowell Jacobsen, Rhodes professor of international business, who took the ETS exam last week.

The ETS took us two and a half hours and it was a lot about business and accounting questions that were put together to make a comprehensive exam. It’s given to all business students, usually across the nation.

There’s no actual way to prepare for this test. There’s stats questions, quantitative analysis, business questions, accounting questions. It’s almost too comprehensive to really sit down and study for.

They compare the results to other schools and the business department reviews them. It’s for business policy, our capstone for the class.

I’m an accounting and business major and so every class that I’ve taken at Baker has really prepared me to take this test.

We scored in the top 9 percent and I guess it’s the best that’s ever been scored at Baker and I think the professors are really happy with that.

I think it reflects greatly on the department, bringing us from the ground up. They’re a great department, and they’ve done a lot and I think they set us up to really succeed after we graduate.
