In its victory over Central Christian College of Moberly, the Baker University women’s basketball team scored more than 90 points for the first time since its 2008-09 season.
The 92-39 win Saturday in Collins Center improved the Wildcats’ record to 6-3 on the season.
Of the 13 Wildcats who scored on the afternoon, freshman Jami Hodge led the team with 16 points and sophomore Avery Vogts was right behind her with 15 of her own.
Baker made 12 three-pointers, as junior Ciarra Washington and sophomore Kyrstie Ehm each sank three apiece. Hodge made two as well.
Senior Rece Huddlin also scored in double digits with 10 points of her own and recorded five rebounds on the afternoon. Sophomore Haleigh Tenpenny added five rebounds of her own.
The Baker defense held CCC to a shooting percentage of 26 percent.
The Wildcats caused 27 turnovers during the matchup and 45 points were scored off of those turnovers. The Baker bench outscored Central Christian’s 60-2.
Baker will play its Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season opener against Avila University at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Kansas City, Mo.
