We aren’t able to get out on the field and play a full size scrimmage or anything like we would really like to. I know we all love playing out in the field. We just have to get inside when we can, whenever there’s gym time, and just focus on specific skills like hitting, and fielding and certain situations.<br/>

It’s really not too difficult when you think about the season. We’ve only played four games, and they weren’t quite the result we were hoping for. Thinking of our ultimate goal down the road, we’re trying to get a HAAC championship this year, so when you keep that in mind it’s not that difficult.

Well, the first thing that jumped out was our pitching really was superb. They battled with every single one of those difficult hitters down there. We were able to put the ball in play, but sometimes just getting things to coordinate together, certain games, one game we hit the ball a lot better, one game we weren’t able to field as well, but just bringing it all together. Like I said, our pitching was really superb so if we can keep that going we’ll be great.

After those games, the snow pretty much hit, so we’ve been hitting inside, hitting in Mabee (Gym) when we can.

You’re back on the team after studying abroad at Harlaxton College last semester. What was it like to start playing again after missing the fall season?<strong>u’re back on the team after studying abroad at Harlaxton College last semester. What was it like to start playing again after missing the fall season?

It took a little bit to knock the cobwebs off, but I was able to throw some over there with Josh Vossen, who studied abroad with me. So as far as staying in condition, it wasn’t too terrible. The whole team aspect, having a bunch of guys around you, it was hard at first, but really the new group of guys we brought in are pretty great. I’ve gotten along with them pretty well.

We have a few new leaders on the team just because we graduated a few great seniors last year. Jimmy Gricol is really stepping up and leading the pitching rotation, and guys like Brett Lechien really stepped up leading the position players. So we have new leaders, but still have the same goals in mind and we still want the same results.
