After earning third-place finishes at the CMU Invite April 15-16 in Boonville, Mo., the Baker University men’s and women’s golf teams came back Wednesday and Thursday to win the Baker University Spring Invitational Tournament on their home course of Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrence.
The BU women’s team placed three golfers in the top five on its way to defeating second-place Graceland University by 15 strokes.
Senior Rachel Strecker won the tournament with a two-round score of 183, while freshman Rebecca Holder and senior Bristol Brandt followed by placing fourth and tied for fifth, respectively.
On the men’s side, the Wildcats claimed a first-place finish by putting four golfers in the top 11. Junior Alex Zuzeleski shot rounds of 78 and 77, which was good enough to tie for third place.
