MARTHA HARRIS – Dean for Academic Affairs at the College of Arts and Sciences
While Baker University doesn’t have its own travel agent, Martha Harris, dean for academic affairs at the college of arts and sciences, is as close as you’ll get. Martha Harris
“I would like for freshman to know me as the study-abroad person so we can start working on their study-abroad opportunity from the beginning,” Harris said. “For some majors it requires planning ahead and I want it to fit into their college plans seamlessly and still get them graduated on time.”
Studying in a foreign country is an option open to all Baker students that Harris said is very beneficial to not only personal growth but in the job market as well.
“It shows a willingness to move outside your comfort zone and indicates an ability to adapt to certain situations,” Harris said. “And that’s what employers are telling us they want.”
Harris said she also set up a Twitter account, Baker Study Abroad (@bakerabroad), to dispense information more easily to interested students.
