ANNIE HANNON – Financial Aid Assistant

As most students would expect, balancing school and a job is a difficult commitment. Work-study is a convenient opportunity available to a number of Baker University students, and Financial Aid Assistant Annie Hannon can help students obtain a position.

“Work-study is a great opportunity to get some experience on your résumé and to get money as you go.” Hannon said.

In May 2013, 127 students took advantage of the prospect of getting money while staying on campus.

The résumé experience comes from getting work-study jobs in one’s discipline. Almost every department and sports team on Baker’s campus has a work-study position available.

While that is the case, there are still less traditional openings like being in charge of campus recycling or guarding the Quayle Bible Collection in Collins library.

Hannon’s piece of advice for incoming freshmen would be to know what you’re getting financially, and always be aware that there are opportunities out there with loans, grants and especially work-study.
