Wildcats fight off OU for fifth straight win
The Baker University volleyball team pushed its win streak to five games Thursday against Ottawa University at Wilson Field House in Ottawa.
With the 25-19, 25-21 and 25-19 sweep, the Wildcats improved to 16-6 on the season.
Sophomore Danielle French led BU’s offensive attack with 12 kills and posted a game high .524 hitting percentage. Senior Jasmyn Turner followed closely behind French with 10 kills.
The Wildcats had another strong defensive outing as they recorded 11 more digs than Ottawa. Senior libero Renata Dill led this effort with 22 digs.
BU has an eight-day break before its next game, but will look to remain perfect in conference play against Culver-Stockton College on Oct. 11 in Canton, Mo.
C-SC is also 16-6 overall but is 1-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. BU’s seventh ranked block will have to fight off sophomore outside hitter Karmin Gold, who was the sixth most kills in the NAIA this season.
