Alumnus to share volunteer opportunities

Baker alumnus Bret McSpadden will be on campus Wednesday to share volunteer opportunities with WorldTeach, an organization that places volunteers to work as teachers around the world.

McSpadden has worked for WorldTech in Namibia for the last three years. He first served as a volunteer teacher, but was later hired as the Country Director of Namibia for WorldTeach.<br/>

He will discuss a summer volunteer program in which participants will work as assistant teachers who focus on computer literacy. The event will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Owens A/V room.

“The unique thing about Baker for students is that our alumni are so generous and connected still with Baker and the faculty that after they graduate they want to come back and share what they have been doing,” Director of Career Services Wade said.
