Holt-Russell Gallery displays student work
Recent student work is now on display in the Holt-Russell Gallery. The gallery is open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, and the work will be on display until April 12.
The display features student work from various classes, including Painting I, Drawing I, Digital Photography I, Digital Photography II and Graphic Design.
Along with each piece of work, descriptions are provided to give viewers a chance to learn more about the meaning behind the assignments.
Senior Ashley Payne has two photos displayed in the gallery from her Digital Photography II class, and since this is her first semester taking art classes at Baker, she is excited to see her work displayed.
“My first piece, which is a symbolism piece, … it has a lot of meaning to me because it’s a picture that I took in Australia when I was studying abroad last semester. Then it’s implementing the southern cross, which is on the Australian flag, and then a picture of myself, which my sister took of me that I manipulated,” Payne said. “It’s just a bunch of mixes of different symbols that mean something to me.”
The next exhibition in the Holt-Russell Gallery will feature work from senior art major Alex Coffey and will open April 24.
