DIY: Decorative Block Letter
This DIY is simple, creative and cheap — all things that sound good to me and all the other crafties in college. All the supplies can be purchased at a craft store for less than $10 total. This is an inexpensive craft that can be completed in approximately 15 minutes and is a great gift to give for any occasion. The best part is, you can mix and match your favorite colors, lettering and designs to make this specifically for any person.
Supplies needed:
- Block letter
- Glue (glue stick or hot glue gun)
- Scissors
- Decorative scrapbook paper (1 sheet)
- Plain scrapbook paper (1 or 2 sheets)
- Alphabet stickers
- Ribbon
Step one: Trace the block letter on to the scrapbook paper.
Step two: Cut out the letter and glue it to the block letter. A glue stick works best for this.
Step three: Put the alphabet letters onto the plain scrapbook paper and cut them out into smaller squares. It makes it look almost like a Scrabble piece. Do this until all letters are cut out.
Step four: Place the cutouts onto the block letter to spell out the word. After you’ve determined where to put them, glue down all the cutouts. Hot glue could work best for this depending on the certain type of decorative paper.
Step five: Cut a piece of ribbon about the length of your forearm and tie it into a bow. Then glue the bow anywhere on the block letter.
Step six: Let everything dry, and you’re good to go!
