Baseball grabs first series win

The baseball team won two out of three weekend games in Dallas. The Wildcats beat Harris-Stowe State in games one and three and lost to Morningside in game two. The Wildcats are now 5-6 on the season.

The men went 2-1 on the weekend, playing only one game Friday against Harris-Stowe State, and winning 10-6. Junior Seth Jones picked up his second win of the season.

The Wildcats had a busy Saturday when they played a game against Morningside College followed by a rematch against Harris-Stowe State.

Morningside College was able to defeat Baker 10-2. Lance Spongberg led the pitching against the Wildcats. Spongberg gave up only four hits in his six innings of pitching for Morningside.

In the rematch with Harris-Stowe State, the Wildcats were able to play better defense, giving up only two runs the entire game and finishing Harris-Stowe off with four late runs. Baker won 6-2.

The 5-6 Wildcats return to Baldwin City at noon this Sunday against Jamestown University. They have a 1-1 record at Sauder Field this season.
