Students who participated in summer internships had the opportunity to compete in the Baker Organizational Observation for Knowledge program to win a grand prize of $1,500.
John Pepper, assistant professor of business and economics, and Kevin McCarthy, professor of business and economics, led the program with help from Susan Wade, director of Career Development Center.
The BOOK Program requires students to conduct research on the business or organization as a whole.
“You would learn how the company operates,” Wade said.
“They all won some kind of prize. In the past, that hasn’t been the case.”
Of the six students who participated in the program, senior Katie Worley won the $1,500 grand prize.
Seniors Camron Thissen and Audrey Bryant both won second place and received $1,200 each. Seniors Abbey Evert, Staci Tabares and Emily Gibson also participated and received $250 each.
