The Baker women’s soccer team improved its record last weekend after going 1-1 against tough competition.
The Wildcats, 4-2 overall, collected the team’s second victory over a ranked opponent Sept. 11 in a 4-1 defeat against No. 22 Olivet Nazarene University.
Senior Mikayla Medlock led the team, scoring two goals in the game. Junior Christine Janssens, who scored one of BU’s goals, said the team needs to continue to work hard to beat more ranked teams.
“Our team worked really hard,” Janssens said. “We got through the first half tied 0-0 and then turned it on the second half and decided we were better.”
The ‘Cats ran out of gas Saturday as they fell to Southern Nazarene University 3-0.
Janssens said the team lacked execution and scoring.
"It was just one of those games where every team has their off day, and it was our off day," Janssens said. "We worked hard, but just didn't do what we were supposed to"<br/>&#160;
