Springtime has finally arrived, along with school winding down and students freaking out.
Every year after spring break, professors have this obligation to give us students loads upon loads of quizzes, tests, research papers, group projects and presentations. Of course professors have a busy time as well with making up the assignments, grading and doing their own research projects. However, it seems like us students never give them a break.
I personally feel bad for professors and how students give them a hard time about the ridiculous assignments. I have known about some of my assignments for a month or two and yet I haven’t even started on them. It’s my own fault for procrastinating and luckily one research paper got moved back a week. I have tried to set time to devote to my papers yet for some unknown reason I have not fulfilled my obligations.
Now that the weather has become glorious out, it has distracted me even more. I have decided, though, that it is time to get my act together. I have looked at the calendar and counted down the weeks until the last day of classes. Can you believe it, only four-and-a-half weeks left until May 10? ?I think I may be sick.
I have laid out some helpful studying tips for myself. I have highlighted the days of which my papers, presentations and test are due in my planner and also on my calendar. The second step was laying out all my materials. After I laid out all my materials I made piles of importance. This step really helps me out because I will do each of them until they are finished and I can check them off. After I make that little hook mark indicating a complete finish I get a great sensation of accomplishment.
It’s a good feeling to have finished a paper or something that you have wanted to get done for a long period of time. I think the most important thing to remember when doing homework is that you need to take a break every now and then. And especially when you get done with homework. Some good activities to partake in while on a break is to go out with friends, grab a snack, go for walk or go to a Baker University baseball game. Also picking up a game of volleyball or throwing a plastic disc around is enjoyable too.
We are in college and having fun is a top priority however we need to remember why we are here and that is to learn.
