Every year the Alumni Relations and Advancement Office hires students to call alumni during the annual Phonathon fundraiser.
This year the office received a record number of applications.
Lindsay Vise, assistant director of development, said the office had 15 total applications last year, but this year there were 23 new applicants.
“We are looking for well-rounded individuals,” Vise said. “We want students that want to share their positive experiences at Baker with the alumni.”
Students eligible for hire will undergo an interview and mock phone call to evaluate their comfort level on the phone.
Vise said in the past, anywhere from 12 to 18 applicants have been accepted, but because of extra applications, it is likely more people will be hired this year.
This year's Phonathon will start February 28 and go through April.<br/>&#160;
