As part of the Military Heroes Campaign, Kappa Sigma fraternity is hosting a 3 vs. 3 half-court basketball tournament at 10 a.m. May 8 at the Kappa Sigma house.
Proceeds from the event will go directly to Kappa Sigma’s Military Heroes Campaign, which honors and aids wounded military veterans, many of whom are returning from active duty overseas.
“People in the military aren’t recognized as they should be, so it’s just another way to help them out,” junior Keith DeMint said.
The cost of the tournament is $20 per team, with a maximum of five players per team, or $5 per player. It will begin as pool play, and the top teams will advance to tournament play. The winning team will receive free T-shirts.
Sign-up sheets were emailed to students and can also be found on the Facebook event, ‘3v3 Basketball Tournament for Military Heroes.’
