There are only so many foods that can be made in a microwave and chances are that a college student is going to try them all. Unfortunately, most foods that are made in a microwave lack the same quality of freshly made food. One food people often complain about is microwave ramen.
Ramen is a quick and simple way to eat if you are in the middle of studying hard and can’t afford to go to the cafeteria. However, some of the flavoring is less than satisfying. Fortunately there is an alternative; make your own flavor.
For those people who want a little more kick, cayenne pepper does just the trick. Any kind of pepper could be substituted for the chicken flavor. Worcestershire sauce is also a good substitute for the soy sauce if you are eating beef.
Depending on which type of ramen you choose, either the kind in a cup or the packages that require a bowl, the recipe will vary. For the packages you may need to double or triple the recipe.
Ingredients:
4 TB spoons of soy sauce1/2 TBl cayenne pepper1/3 TB vinegar1 pinch of salt or packet of ramen flavoring
Combine all ingredients in bowl. Make sure to completely mix the vingar and pepper. Do not add salt if you add Ramen flavoring. Pour mixture into noodles and follow microwave direction on the package.
