Volleyball takes Evangel in three sets

The Baker volleyball team defeated Evangel in three sets Friday night while celebrating senior night inside the Collins Center.

The Wildcats kept it close in all three sets, defeating the Crusaders 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.

Senior Abby Goulding led Baker’s offense with nine kills followed by seniors Kat Hauger and Michelle Tennant with seven each.

Freshman Megan Milroy totaled 17 assists for the ‘Cats, followed by senior Jenna Sackman with 14. Sackman also led the team in digs with 19.

On the defensive side, Hauger earned three solo blocks and two block assists. Junior Olivia Brees totaled nine block assists and one solo block.

Senior Madeline McCrary had 13 digs for the Wildcats, and sophomore Ali Clark had nine of her own.

After the team’s senior night success, Baker is 6-12 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play and 13-18 overall. The Wildcats will play their last regular-season match on the road against Central Methodist at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Fayette, Missouri.
