Members of the Baker Orange staff traveled to Austin, Texas to the 88th Annual ACP/CMA National College Media Convention Oct. 28-31.<br/>&#160; <br/>The Orange staff was named a national finalist in the Story of the Year category for a multimedia package that covered the BU football team's 2008 playoff run. The Orange staff was named a national finalist in the Story of the Year category for a multimedia package that covered the BU football team’s 2008 playoff run.
Editor-in Chief Chris Smith wrote the story, Zack Rockey filmed for KNBU-TV and senior Courtney Servaes designed the multimedia package that earned an honorable mention.
“It’s definitely an honor to win national awards where you are competing against the best newspapers – small and large – from around the country,” Smith said. “I’m glad we could capture such a memorable season.”
The story had previously won national first place at the Society of Professional Journalists annual competition for online sports storytelling.<br/>&#160;
