Four students from the theater productions “Dracula” and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” are nominated for an award through the Irene Ryan Acting competition.
Senior Kari Hilmes and sophomore Heather Wickman were selected from this semester’s production of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and sophomore Patrick King and senior Aaron Schopper were nominated from last semester’s production of “Dracula.”
In the last week of January, the four will travel to Iowa State University to compete against 360-400 students for the award.
Each student will bring two scenes and a monologue to perform. In the first round, each performs one scene with a partner, but after that round, 64 people will be left to compete.
“They’re all very excited,” Heiman said. “They’re going to represent us well.
