Baker Wildcats vs University of Jamestown

The men’s team walks through the University of Jamestown with a final score 7-1. Sophomore Jordan Alonge nearly scoring a hat-trick with two goals and receiving Heart of America men’s soccer Offensive player of the week. Junior Andrew Dowdy records first ever career goal for Baker in all competitions. Another individual that opened their goal scoring career for Baker is freshman Eren Eskinar in the last minutes of the match. Baker begins Heart conference play 1-0 and look to go 2-0 against Clarke University Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. in Liston Stadium.

The women’s team pulls out a narrow victory against the University of Jamestown in overtime. Junior Georgia Vernardakis slots home a free kick from outside the back in the second half of overtime. The wildcats move to 4-2 and 0-1 in Heart play with a lost to Evangel University 0-2. The wildcats created offense against Jamestown with 20 shots and eight on target. Baker will play Sept. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in Liston Stadium against conference rival Clarke University.
