Zeta Chi fraternity’s annual Polyeuphony benefit concert has always had a philanthropic spirit, and this year’s concert gave the men of the fraternity a chance to help one of their own.

Sophomore Kyle Jones said the fraternity raised $250 for the Cydnee Price Fund.

Cydnee is the daughter of the late Eric Price, a Baker University alumnus who was a Zeta Chi chapter adviser and a member of the fraternity’s board of trustees.

Jones said the fund was formed after Eric Price’s death in January to help with Cydnee’s future education costs.

“Everyone at the house felt really close to Eric,” Jones said. “He loved the house a lot. I am happy to give this money because it is going to a good cause.”

Eric Price’s widow, Danielle, said she was surprised the men of Zeta Chi decided to give the funds to her daughter.

“I’m excited that they’re doing it,” Danielle Price said. “It means a lot since now I’m a single mom, and it is going to make things easier for me. It is going to make (Cydnee) going to college a lot easier of an undertaking than it would have been without the funds they’re giving me and without funds other people have donated.”

Sophomore Connie Meyer said even though she would have attended the event anyway.

“It was just something that was close to home, and it wasn’t something that was so big you couldn’t see how the money would make a difference,” Meyer said.

Junior Kevin Winn performed at the event. Winn, a Zeta Chi, said he was glad to perform for the daylong event.

“It was kind of a reminder of what good times we spent with (Eric) and what a good leader he was,” Winn said.
