All charges have been dropped in a case filed at the beginning of October regarding a reported rape at the campus apartments
Dean of Students Cassy Bailey said the Baldwin City Police Department ended its investigation of the events that took place Oct. 4 at Horn and Markham apartments.
According to police reports, the Baldwin City Police Department responded to a report that a 20-year-old female student was raped.
The reported incident occurred between 11 p.m. Oct. 4 and 1:30 a.m. Oct. 5, according to the police report
Bailey said although the charges have been dropped at the police department, the university followed through with its investigation of the reported crime.
“I conducted a complete and thorough investigation,” Bailey said. “I worked with the police and in the end, the college will not pursue charges.
Despite dropping charges, Bailey said the incident was not one the university took lightly.<br/>"If a person came in and said they had been violated in some way against the Code of Conduct, the university would pursue charges," Bailey said."If a person came in and said they had been violated in some way against the Code of Conduct, the university would pursue charges," Bailey said.
