The Student Development Office brought back two awards from conferences this year, which recognize graduate assistants and orientation leaders.
At the annual National Association of Campus Activities conference, Megan Harr, area coordinator of Irwin Hall and graduate assistant, won 2009 Outstanding Graduate Assistant for the central region.
“It means a lot to me just to have been nominated, and then to actually win the award was a surprise,” Harr said.
At the 2009 National Orientation Directors Association conference, the Student Development Office earned the Outstanding Welcome Week award.
This is the first year for Baker to win this award, and after looking at other publications, the office hopes to keep improving.
