Junior Andrew Krievins and sophomore Logan Gallardo are running for the position of treasurer.
Sophomores Ruben Lara and Shontelle Dixon are running for vice president. Junior Patti Greenbaum is running for president, uncontested.
No students applied for the public relations executive board position for the second year in a row.
O’Bryhim said he expects a current senator to step up for the board and fill the position, which happened last year.
Stice said she hopes to be available to help all students if they need it.
“I would like to be a resource for all student groups,” she said.
Krievins said he should be elected because of the passion he brings to the table.
“I know it sounds crazy, but I enjoy student senate and things like this,” he said.
Lara believes he can be a leader as vice president, if elected.
“I feel like I can step up to the table and be the vice president that student senate needs,” he said.
When asked what to do about how extra student senate funds should be used, Dixon said she believes aiding students is a priority.
“I really would like to see any money we have left over go back into Baker,” she said.
When asked about what she could improve on as a candidate, Greenbaum said she has the communication skills needed for the position, but will look to develop her confidence as a speaker.
“I need to make sure that I am more confident in myself when I am communicating,” Greenbaum said.
The current student senate executive board sat through presentations about the process of allocating funds to student groups, which proved to be very helpful.
The candidates believe it is more rewarding to student senate when organizations that receive money return to Baker and recap what it is used for.
The candidates also feel advertising student senate is a main priority for the next regime elected.
